Joe Edge Announces Candidacy for State Senate District 24
Thursday, March 10th, 2016
Conservative businessman and military veteran Joe Edge officially qualified as a candidate for the Georgia State Senate in District 24 to replace retiring Senator Bill Jackson.
“Bill Jackson has served our community with honor and distinction for more than 4 decades and we all owe Sen. Jackson our sincere gratitude,” said Edge. “Sen. Jackson is a leader among leaders in Atlanta, one who has worked tirelessly to improve our State and he will be sorely missed. I wish him all the best in retirement.”
“I grew up in Columbia County, graduating from Evans High School before joining the Marine Corps, and to see the growth our community is experiencing is exciting. It has been equally exciting to have been a part of this growth, working with many businesses, from retail to manufacturing, to locate in Columbia County. We need a Senator with real working knowledge of the opportunities and challenges our State faces as we continue to work to attract jobs and industry.
“As a business owner, I know we need tax reform in Georgia and I will work to make that a reality. As a Christian and seminary graduate, I will always side with religious freedom over government intrusion. As a father, I want the best education system available that will prepare the workforce of tomorrow. As a Marine, I will fight to protect our 2nd amendment rights in Georgia.
“Over the next weeks and months, I look forward to working hard to earn your vote in the Primary on May 24th.”
