Augusta Tech Announces its "Best of the Best"

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, April 1st, 2016

Terry D. Elam, President of Augusta Technical College, is pleased to announce that Mrs. Elaine Keller and Ms. Narrie Garduno have been named the 2015-2016 Office Employee of the Year and 2015-2016 Building, Grounds, and Maintenance Employee of the Year, respectively.

Each year the College sends out a request to faculty and staff to submit nominations to recognize an outstanding and dedicated office support employee who has promoted the College’s programs and services and to recognize a skilled and dedicated building, grounds, and maintenance employee who plays a vital role in maintaining our College’s facilities. Each nomination is accompanied by a brief description of why the nominee should be selected for the prestigious award.

Mrs. Keller has been the Asset Facilities Manager with the College for 20 years. Ms. Garduno has been a custodian with the College for 10 years.

“These winners represent all of our high quality employees that work at Augusta Technical College,” stated President Elam.

The Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership winner, Markita Battle; Rick Perkins Award for Instructor of the Year, Paul Visintainer; and the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education winner, Burnette Grant, were also recognized.

On March 30, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., the College hosted a luncheon in honor of the nominees and winners.  Each winner was presented with a plaque, and their names and photos will be prominently displayed at Augusta Technical College’s main campus in Building 100.
