Columbia County Chamber and CCNT to Host Candidates Forum

Columbia County Chamber of Commerce along with The Columbia County News-Times will host a Candidates Forum on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Columbia County Library.  This event is free and open to the public. 

The evening will consist of a meet and greet with the candidates in the lobby of the library followed by the forum inside the Jabez S. Hardin Performing Arts Theater.  The meet and greet will begin at 5:15 pm, and all candidates on the Columbia County May 24th Election Ballot will have the opportunity to meet with members of the community. 

The forum will begin at 6 pm, and we will briefly hear from the candidates for Board of Education, District 1 and County Commission, District 2.  Candidates for State Senator, District 24 and State Representative, District 123 will participate in a panel discussion with questions from a representative from The Columbia County News-Times and the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. 

Board of Education, District 1candidates are David Alalof and Eric Lewkowiez.  County Commission, District 2 candidates are Trey Allen and Lee Benedict.  Candidates for State Senator, District 24 are Pat Goodwin, Joe Edge, Greg Grzybowski, Brenda Jordan, Lee Anderson and Pete Gibbons.  Candidates for State Representative, District 123 are Dr. Mark Newton, Wright McLeod and Lori Greenhill.
