The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Snacks and meals will be provided to all children 18 years old and younger, regardless of membership, at some of the various locations of the Y’s summer camps.

“We’re dedicated to ensuring our youth can overcome the hunger gap during the summer months, as many children are unsure of where their next meal will come from,” says Danny McConnell, President/CEO of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta. “We want to help our youth grow into healthy adults.”

This program will kick off Monday, May 23rd and will end August 5th. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals/Snacks will be provided at all sites listed below, showing the specified start and end times for meals/snacks.        

In addition to serving lunch and an afternoon snack at each summer camp site, the YMCA will also operate four mobile cafes this year. Lunch will be provided at the four mobile café sites (times vary by location), which include:

·         Salem Arms Apartments (2243 Rosier Road, Augusta)

·         Providence Place Apartments (2205 Southgate Drive, Augusta)

·         Regency Village Apartments (2810 Thomas Lane, Augusta)

·         Forest Brook Apartments (3122 Damascus Road, Augusta)

An afternoon snack will be provided to campers at the following locations:

-North Jefferson Family YMCA (3001 Hwy 17 North, Wrens)

-Wilson Family YMCA Camp at Sue Reynolds Elementary School (3840 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta)

-Thomson Family YMCA Camp at Warrenton Elementary School (1253 Atlanta Hwy, Warrenton)

Lunch and an afternoon snack will both be provided to campers at the following locations:

·         Family YMCA of Downtown Augusta (945 Broad Street, Augusta)

·         Augusta South Family YMCA (2215 Tobacco Road, Augusta)

·         Augusta South Family YMCA Camp at Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (2930 Glenn Hills Drive, Augusta)

·         Family YMCA’s Camp Lakeside (1238 Dogwood Drive, Lincolnton)

·         Marshall Family YMCA Camp at Patriots Park (5445 Columbia Road, Grovetown)

·          Steiner Branch Family YMCA Camp at Liberty Park Community Center (1040 Newmantown Road, Grovetown)

·         Thomson Family YMCA Camp at the Thomson YMCA Program Center (133 W Hill Street, Thomson)

·         Wilson Family YMCA (3570 Wheeler Road, Augusta)
