2017 Augusta University Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Registration Now Open

The Augusta Sports Council is excited to announce registration for the 2017 Augusta University Half Marathon, 10K & 5K is now open along with a new website for the event. The race will be held on February 26, 2017.

With such success in the past, the ASC decided to create a 5K component to allow the community to have more options to get involved in the event. The Sports Council has included a Pre-Race Pasta Dinner the night before the event to help participants carb up before the big race with proceeds benefiting the G.A.M.E.S. scholarship fund. There will also be the Medals for Miles FUN RUN on Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m. for kids in grades K-6.

This year's course tours through Downtown Augusta, the historic Summerville neighborhood, NEW Berckmans Road and finishes at Lake Olmstead.

Packet pick-up and athlete vendors will be at the two-day Health and Wellness Expo at the Julian Smith Casino on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Augusta Sports Council's CEO, Stacie Adkins said, "We are excited to add a 5K element to our race, and include the newly designed and scenic Berckmans Road to the route."

Teams, charities and wheelchair athletes are also encouraged to register for the event. Half marathon prices start at $45, 10K prices start at $35, 5K prices start at $25 and the Medals for Miles FUN RUN is free with pre-registration.
