Augusta Technical College Awarded National Science Foundation Grant

Augusta Technical College has been awarded a $198,865 National Science Foundation Grant through the Advanced Technological Education Program. The Virtual Industrial Process Simulator Lab project for Engineering Technology programs will enhance the education and instruction of Engineering Technology students utilizing 3D Virtual Simulation to obtain the technical knowledge and skills to be highly qualified and better prepared engineering technicians in industry and manufacturing. Through collaborative efforts with industry partners, the Engineering Technology programs have obtained simulation software, 3D modeling and technical computer support, and have implemented a Virtual Simulation Pilot Lab. This award starts July 15, 2016 and ends June 30, 2019.

The project is under the direction of John Michael Weiksner Sr., PE, Department Chair, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Robert Collins, Department Chair, Nuclear Engineering Technology.
