Golden Harvest Food Bank has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local residents. Golden Harvest Food Bank will use the gift to purchase high quality, shelf-stable food to feed the hungry through its network of local food pantries.
 
“Food Lion is one of our best supporters and food donors. We are so grateful to the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for their commitment to serving families who struggle with hunger,” said Executive Director Travis McNeal.
 
Golden Harvest supports a network of more than 300 local agencies who feed the hungry. While relying on donations for much of their food, Golden Harvest purchases certain high value staple items that are not regularly donated. The food sourcing staff will use the funds provided by the Food Lion Feeds Foundation to buy items that are nutritious and delicious to help fill the tummies of their clients.
