Representatives from the Augusta Economic Development Authority and AT&T are pleased to announce that the Augusta Corporate Park has been designated as AT&T Fiber Ready.

AT&T has been deploying high-speed, fiber-optic infrastructure across Georgia for many years with millions of strand-miles of fiber optics in the company’s statewide network, and the AT&T Fiber Ready designation is a tool for local economic development officials to highlight the presence of this high-speed infrastructure in their facilities.

"As we work to attract new businesses to the community, the ability to highlight the presence of this critical, fiber-optic infrastructure is essential,” said Walter Sprouse, Executive Director of the Augusta Economic Development Authority. “I am proud of the work being done by our state and local elected officials who have created an environment that attracts this type of private-sector investment in critical infrastructure."

With the designation of being AT&T Fiber Ready, the Augusta Corporate Park joins a growing number of properties across the state that have pursued the designation to more effectively tout the presence of AT&T’s world-class communications network. The designation offers local economic development officials the ability to more effectively position their communities for site selection by emphasizing the availability of high-speed, fiber-based services.

In today’s world, connectivity is vital to employers and businesses of every type. There’s no such thing as a “low-tech” business today, so economic development leaders must be able to tout the presence of high-speed internet connectivity.

“We have a long history of serving the modern communications needs of businesses and residents in Augusta and Richmond County, and we are proud to highlight that AT&T’s fiber-optic infrastructure is in place and ready to help local businesses drive job creation here in the Augusta Corporate Park,” said Stan Shepherd, AT&T Regional Director – External Affairs. “Positive, pro-business policies embraced by Georgia’s state and local elected officials continue to make our state a great place to invest, and I’m proud of the work our AT&T Georgia employees have done deploying fiber and other infrastructure that delivers high-speed Internet access. Their hard work and skills, combined with billions of dollars in AT&T investment, enable Georgians to connect and innovate. ”
