EDTS Makes It Seven Straight Years on Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America List
Thursday, August 18th, 2016
Once is a tremendous honor. Twice is a separator. And five times is truly uncommon.
Southeastern IT consultancy EDTS, however, has now moved into rarified air, being named to Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for 2016 -- the seventh consecutive year that the IT company has achieved that honor.
The announcement comes on the heels of EDTS adding new offices in Asheville, North Carolina and expanding its Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina operations. Augusta, Georgia-based EDTS also was recently named to The Channel Company’s 2016 CRN Fast Growth 150 list and to the prestigious Apple Consultants Network.
While hundreds of young companies make the Inc. 5000 list each year and some established companies make the list multiple times over many years; maintaining such rapid growth and momentum over multiple consecutive years is exceedingly difficult. This is borne out by the fact that fewer than 18% of honorees historically ever achieve five consecutive years; details on longer streaks are not readily available.
"It is a great honor to be recognized for seven consecutive years as one of America's fastest growing private companies," stated EDTS CEO Charles Johnson. "We dedicate this recognition to the commitment and hard work of our team, and to the successful partnerships that we have forged over the years with our clients."
EDTS, a regional technology consulting firm that specializes in providing managed I.T. services, network security and advanced infrastructure solutions to organizations across the Southeast, is ranked #2920 on the 2016 Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies – up 970 places from 2015 -- and continues to rank highly among IT Service providers on the list.
The 2016 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2012 through 2015, with the requirements that qualifying companies be U.S. based and privately held, independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- and have had at least $100,000 in revenue in 2012, and $2 million in 2015. EDTS revenues according to Inc. totaled nearly $15 million at year-end 2015.
The magazine surveys private America’s independent businesses to take a comprehensive snapshot of that critical part of the economy. Participating companies vary widely in their focus, ranging from digital media companies, retailers and food and beverage companies to advanced manufacturers, technology and telecommunications businesses.
"EDTS focuses on helping clients lower costs, increase value and harness the full power of their technology investment, empowering them to achieve even higher levels of success,” said Johnson. “EDTS is laser focused in our commitment to providing customers with comprehensive IT solutions, strategies, and responsive service to help them grow their market share and profitability. We are blessed that our clients’ resulting success has led to our own success as well.”
