Food 2 Fight Hunger Canned Food Drive Saturday, August 13th
Friday, August 12th, 2016
The Salvation Army of the Greater Augusta Area will have its fifth annual Food 2 Fight Hunger drive Saturday, Augusta 13th. The Army will be collecting nonperishable goods to continue to serve the CSRA. The food collected will benefit The Salvation Army’s soup kitchen and food pantry. These donations are coming at a time of great need, as our food pantry is nearly empty.
Most needed canned food items include:
· High protein foods such as peanut butter, canned beans, meats and stews.
· Canned fruit and juice.
· Canned vegetables.
· Breakfast items, such as cereal, oatmeal and pancake mix.
· Infant formula and baby food.
The summer months historically show a drop in donations and an increase in need; this year is no different.
