2016 Combined Federal Campaign Leadership Breakfast a Success

On September 1, 2016, the Combined Federal Campaign of the Central Savannah River Area held the 2016 Leadership Breakfast Meeting at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia.  Representatives from many federal agencies representing Georgia and South Carolina were present to kick off this year’s Combined Federal Campaign.  Keynote speaker was Tom Clark, Command Sergeant Major (Retired) from Fort Gordon.  He stressed to each person present the importance of being an agent of change and that people should move from a mindset of seeking “a life of success” towards “a life of significance”This is especially significant as the theme of this year’s campaign will be “Show Some Love”.

Two local agencies were present and provided attendees an update on what their agencies were doing to improve the lives of people living within our communities.   They were:  Mrs. Michelle Canchola, Executive Director of The Lydia Project located in Augusta, Georgia, and Mrs. Peggy Ford, Executive Director of The Children’s Place, located in Aiken, South Carolina.

In addition, awards and recognition were given to Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Tom Clark for his motivating presentation while Local Federal Coordinating Committee Board Members were recognized for their tireless efforts throughout the 2015 campaign season.

Closing remarks were provided by Mr. Tony Williams, 2016 Local Federal Coordinating Committee Chairperson, who represents the Social Security Administration in Aiken, South Carolina.  This year, a campaign goal of $600,000 has been approved by the LFCC.  Federal employees across the CSRA will be seeing and hearing more about their agency’s individual campaigns in the very near future.  As always, everyone is encouraged to “Show Some Love” when asked to contribute in order to enrich the lives of others in our communities that need and deserve our support.
