BOATS

Tours at the Top
Petersburg Boat tours of the upper Augusta Canal National Heritage Area will continue through the month of September. Tours depart from the dock at Savannah Rapids Park, 3300 Evans-to-Lock Road, Evans, GA 30809.  Tickets are $10 for all ages and include a voucher for free visit to the Augusta Canal Discovery Center at Enterprise Mill in downtown Augusta. Advance purchase by calling 706-823-0440 ext. 4 or buy on day of tour at the park on a space-available basis.

  • Tuesday through Saturday mornings, 10 and 11:30 a.m.

  • Saturday evenings, 6:30 p.m.

  • Sunday  afternoons, 4 and 5:30 p.m.

Moonlight Music Cruises 
Augusta Canal’s Friday evening music cruises return in September with departures from the Savannah Rapids Park at 6:30 p.m.  Cruises offer an array of live music on a relaxing one and a half hour scenic tour.  Passengers may bring aboard food and beverages. Tickets $25 per seat. Reservations required. Call 706-823-0440 x 4.

TRAIL TALKS

Explore the historic and natural surroundings of the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area with knowledgeable subject-matter specialists. The twice-monthly walks on Sundays at 3 p.m. start from various canal locations and last about an hour and a half.  Walks are free. For more information call 706-823-0440 extension 2. (The schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.)
