Tuesday, September 27th, 2016
Karen Beavor, President & CEO of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, will be the keynote speaker for the 2016 Women in Business Signature Event on October 6th. The Signature Event is one of Augusta’s premier events for women, allowing them to come together for a night of networking, professional development and personal growth while being inspired by nationally renowned female business leaders. The evening dinner event will be held at the Augusta Marriott Hotel at the Convention Center and begins at 6:00 p.m.
An expert on the changing world of nonprofits, Ms. Beavor will share her experiences and passions in the philanthropic space. She will speak on the economics of nonprofits, the changes happening in the industry, the impact of these elements as both individuals and companies interact with nonprofits, and how it all comes together in "The Business of Giving."
Karen Beavor has led the Georgia Center for Nonpofits' growth into a leading state association empowering nonprofits through education, advocacy and business support services; developed the Georgia Gives Day initiative raising more than $5.1M to support 2,000+ nonprofits around the state since its inception in 2012; and was named one of Georgia Trend Magazine's 100 Most Influential Georgians in 2016.
Tickets for the Women in Business Signature Event are $55 for chamber members, $65 for non-members and are available at AugustaMetroChamber.com.
“We are very excited about our theme this year. For anyone that either works for, financially supports or even volunteers for a non-profit in our community, you will not want to miss this event,” says Marie Jackson, Chair of the Women In Business Committee.
