Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

The Wilson Family YMCA will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new adaptive playground at their branch on Thursday October 27 at 4 pm. The playground is a first of its kind for the YMCA and for the CSRA. This adaptive playground will allow kids of all abilities a safe place to play outdoors. The playground will be open to the general public to use at any time the Wilson Family YMCA is open.

“This playground will be a wonderful source of fun for young ones of all abilities to enjoy,” says Danny McConnell, President/CEO of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta. “We are so thankful for the opportunity to provide another great resource for the adaptive community to utilize.”

A special thanks to our donors that assisted in making this dream a reality for our children, The Creole Foundation, Publix Foundation and Women in Philanthropy.

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce will be assisting with the ribbon-cutting, with the ceremony taking place at 4:30 pm. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be a trunk-or-treat celebration from 5-7 pm around the Wilson branch walking track and soccer fields. The trunk-or-treat is open to the public.
