On Wednesday, October 05, 2016, the finalists for the Most Valuable Partner Community Awards were announced by Walton Options for Independent Living. Designed to recognize and honor those that have worked to create a more inclusive community for persons with disabilities, the MVP Community Awards Finalists represent a wide range of organizations, businesses and advocates from the CSRA.

The MVP Community Awards Finalists are:

Inclusive Employment Award: The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta and Adaptive Driving Solutions

Community Government Award: Augusta-Richmond County Public Library and Project Burke Build

Public Accommodation & Communication Award: Kroger Marketplace - Grovetown, Regal 20 Cinemas (Augusta) and Doctors Hospital of Augusta

Outstanding Service Organization Award: Veteran K9 Solutions, The RECing Crew, and The Master’s Transportation Ministry

Outstanding Individual Advocate Award: Mallory Lanier, Albert Yarbrough, and Mary Painter.

“We are very excited to acknowledge this year’s Finalists” stated Tiffany Clifford, Executive Director at Walton Options for Independent Living. “The publicly submitted nominations highlighted some really great programs, organizations, efforts and advocates from across the community. Some of the categories had such excellent nominations that we could only narrow the finalists down to three.”

The MVP Community Awards finalists will be announced on Thursday November 3 at the Legends Club on Washington Road during a Celebration Brunch hosted by Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop. Ms. Kellie Irving, the Compliance Coordinator for the City of Augusta, will be the guest speaker.

Members of the community are invited to attend the Celebration Brunch to meet the finalists and network with those working to bring positive change to the CSRA. Event registration is a $25 contribution per attendee. For more information about the Finalists and the Brunch, visit www.waltonoptions.org/MVPceremony or call 706-724-6262.
