The Salvation Army of Augusta’s Emergency Disaster Services team has been preparing three meals a day and feeding hundreds of evacuees at three area Red Cross shelters. Today and tomorrow The Master’s Table soup kitchen, a Golden Harvest ministry, will prepare 250 hot meals for hurricane evacuees.

“It’s great how Augusta area organizations are working together to meet the needs of those evacuating from Hurricane Matthew,” said Captain Philip Canning, Area Commander of The Salvation Army.

If you are seeking emergency disaster shelter, please contact the Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross at 706-724-8481.

As long as the need remains, The Salvation Army in Augusta's Emergency Disaster Services team will continue to feed Hurricane Matthew evacuees at area shelters. Currently The Salvation Army is not asking for any clothing or household item donations, but for only money donations to be made at this time. Money can be mailed to 1384 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901, with all checks marked Hurricane Matthew Relief.
