The Thomson Family YMCA will host a community-wide pep rally to kick-off the community phase of the capital campaign to renovate the new Thomson branch. The pep rally will be held on Friday, October 28 at 5:00 pm, across the street from “The Brickyard” prior to the Thomson/Burke County High School football game. The new Thomson Family YMCA building is located at the former University Hospital McDuffie County, 521 Hill Street, Thomson.

“We’re excited for this event and the impact it will have on the future of this new facility,” says James Thomas, District Vice President of the Thomson Family YMCA. “This event is a great opportunity for the community to join forces with us for a better tomorrow in Thomson and the surrounding communities.”

Interested supporters can learn more about how they can leave their mark on the new Thomson Family Y by buying a brick to place in the main walkway and joining the Thomson branch as a charter member. The first 1,000 people in attendance will receive a free gift, along with free food, door prizes inflatables, inflatables, cheerleaders from both counties and tons of family fun for those who want to support their Family YMCA as this new project unfolds. Jared Stepp, host of WJBF’s new game show “Here’s Your Chance”, will be the emcee of the evening’s festivities.
