Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, November 11th, 2016

America’s Got Talent finalist Sons of Serendip will perform their Billboard chart-topping hits at the Maxwell Theatre on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. This program is a part of Augusta University’s highly-acclaimed annual Lyceum Series.

Known for their fusion of classical, hip-hop and R&B, the quartet strike the right chords with audiences with their fresh interpretations of songs such as Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and Stevie Wonder’s “Sign, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.”

During season nine of the show, judge Mel B said the foursome’s music moved her and the show’s other judges, Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum, were also impressed, pronouncing the group’s audition as “beautiful.”

The Sons of Serendip consists of four friends, who through a series of serendipitous events, came together in graduate school at Boston University. Since 2014, the group has been creating music together and they hope their tunes resonate deeply with listeners to make their lives a little better.

Tickets for this event are $18 for the general public, $12 for military and Augusta University alumni, and $7 for children, students, faculty and staff from Augusta University and East Georgia State College. Augusta University and East Georgia State students with a valid JagCard are admitted free.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the box office. For more information, visit the Maxwell Theatre website.
