Tuesday, November 8th, 2016

In partnership with Team Red, White and Blue, the Augusta South Family YMCA will host a WOD for Warriors workout this Veterans Day, November 11, at 5:30 pm at the branch, 2215 Tobacco Road. The Augusta South Family Y is an Armed Services YMCA and CrossFit affiliate, housing the branch’s CrossFit box “S.A.Y. CrossFit”.

“CrossFit has proven to be a community-building workout,” says Danny McConnell, President/CEO of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta. “What a better way to honor our military by bringing the community together on Veterans Day to complete a CrossFit Workout of the Day.”

Participating CrossFit boxes and gyms have the opportunity to win a CrossFit prize pack, based on the number of completed repetitions of the workout. Active duty military and veterans who complete the WOD count as double.
WOD for Warriors is a functional fitness tribute workout held once a year on Veterans Day at gyms all throughout the country. This WOD is designed to celebrate the service of all U.S. military veterans in a meaningful way by providing an opportunity for veterans and non-veterans to meet and sweat with members of their community through functional fitness on a national level with the goal of fundraising for Team RWB’s Veteran enriching programs.

This free workout is open to the public. Interested participants may register at www.crowdrise.com/south-augusta-y-crossfit.
