The Partridge Inn Receives Historic Augusta Preservation Award
Thursday, November 17th, 2016
After working diligently to complete an extensive multi-million-dollar renovation in time for Masters last year, the iconic Partridge Inn is honored to receive the Historic Augusta 2016 Preservation Award for the restoration of the property.
Each year, Historic Augusta, a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic built environment of Augusta and Richmond County, Ga., recognizes outstanding historic preservation projects throughout the city of Augusta, GA. The Partridge Inn was recognized for their most recent rehabilitation, which brought this historic property up to the modern-day Hilton Curio standards while retaining original millwork, plaster, and stamped tin ceilings throughout the interior. The award was presented to Jane Spano, Regional Director of Operations and Tijuana Jenkins, Director of Sales and Marketing.
In 2014 Partridge Inn Holdings, LLC and NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC, purchased the Historic property with the goal of restoration, bringing the hotel up to standards and amenities that today’s travelers have come to expect and reclaiming the hotel’s spot as the Grand Dame of hospitality. Two years later, the hotel did just that and re-opened after a comprehensive overhaul of all 144 guest rooms, bathrooms, verandahs, a new restaurant concept, meeting and event space renovations, a fresh look and under the Hilton Curio portfolio.
“It was important to our team and new owners to blend the historic past of the hotel, with the modern technology and conveniences of today to create an “old meets new” feel.” Said Tijuana Jenkins, Director of Sales at The Partridge Inn. “Our history is such a major part of what we are known for throughout our community and visitors. So many memories have been made inside these walls, so it was important for us to preserve those along with our cherished hotel.”
Design accents including cozy patterns, the use of rich, deep-toned woods, neutral colors and modern, timeless designs will pair together to create a contemporary take on a golden-age vibe.
The Partridge Inn’s new design preserves the historic architectural features of the Inn while offering a sophisticated, contemporary interior. The original woodwork and ceiling tiles will remain completely intact, complemented by modern furniture and light fixtures. All renovations were thoughtfully curated in a way that is consistent with the traditions of the historic hotel and surrounding area and infuse touch points that guests are looking for, including exceptional Internet connectivity, 42” TVs with over 100 high definition channels and high-end linens.
