Toy Drive & Car Show Benefits Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Wednesday, November 9th, 2016

Join The Salvation Army of Augusta for a day of fast cars, food & fellowship at the Angel Tree Toy Drive and Car Show, presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, Smart Safes and Georgia Street Kings.

Get up close and personal with some of the CSRA's most unique vehicles at the North Augusta Family Store, 1751 Knox Avenue, SC. Enjoy food from Eat It All BBQ and Albert the Peanut Man. This event is free, but guests are asked to please bring a new unwrapped toy to help support our 2016 Angel Tree program.

Through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program, Christmas gifts and clothing are provided for local disadvantaged children who might otherwise go without. Augusta Angel Trees will be placed in area stores after the Red Kettle and Angel Tree Kickoff on November 11. This year, there are 650 “angels” up for “adoption.” Community members select an angel from a tree, purchase items for that child based on the information on the tag, and then return the gifts to an Angel Tree drop-off location by December 2, 2016.

In 2015, The Salvation Army provided almost one million children with Christmas joy and donors spent $50 million on gifts.
