Turkey Trot Race is Saturday
Tuesday, November 15th, 2016
Calling all Augusta Heroes! Grab your capes and join the fight against hunger at the WJBF-Salvation Army Turkey Trot presented by Barney’s Pharmacy on November 19.
The starting line for this year’s 5K, 10K and Family Fun Run is located at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center of Augusta, 1833 Broad Street. Participants are encouraged to dress in their superhero best as we fight against hunger. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed runners.
Everyone is invited to the Barney’s Pharmacy Health Fair for free health screenings and other wellness activities. Grab a Health Fair passport on race day, visit each booth and automatically be entered to win one of two bikes. Other race day activities include the Superhero Kids Zone, Kroc Center tours, Café on the Canal specials and the Mascot Invitational. Cheer on your favorite mascots as they compete in a lively footrace for the coveted Gravy Bowl.
The 1 Mile Family Fun Run is $15 per person. The 5K, 10K and 10K Wheelchair Races are $40 per person through November 18 and $45 on race day. All registration fees include a long-sleeved T-shirt; day of race registration does not guarantee a T-shirt. Register at bit.do/turkeytrot2016. All race proceeds benefit The Salvation Army of Augusta.
The 10K course is an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier and is certified by USA Track & Field. Both the 5K and 10K courses will be timed by Precision Race. Mascots interested in participating in the Mascot Invitational, please contact Letitia Cropps at 706-434-3182 or [email protected].
