The Salvation Army of Augusta to Distribute Gifts to Local Families Friday
Thursday, December 15th, 2016
It’s the morning they’ve been waiting for – Christmas Toy Distribution Day. On Friday, more than 300 local families will receive toys and clothing for more than 780 children who might otherwise be left out on Christmas.
Gifts were gathered through The Salvation Army of Augusta’s Stuff-a-Stocking program and the Angel Tree campaign. This year, the community donated thousands of gifts, including more than 200 new bicycles.
“Once again, this great community has stepped up to the plate and made Christmas possible for families in need,” said Captain Philip Canning, Augusta Area Commander. “We thank everyone who has contributed to The Salvation Army through Angel Tree or Red Kettles. We appreciate and respect the deep trust you have placed in us as a conduit of your generosity.”
