The Augusta Sports Council is excited to announce two new events for the Augusta River Region Area. The Insane Inflatable 5K and the SportsFest & Wellness Expo will take place on Saturday, March 11 at Diamond Lakes Regional Park and Community Center.

The Insane Inflatable 5K is a fun fitness run series made up of inflatable obstacles designed to be accessible to everyone, no matter where you are in your fitness journey. The 3.1-mile long course is outfitted with 11+ extreme inflatable obstacles and offers an exhilarating stroll throughout the unique terrain of Diamond Lakes Regional Park. The event will kick off at approximately 8:30 a.m. with the first wave, and additional waves will run concurrently until noon or 1 p.m.

The oversized, custom-designed inflatable obstacles combine imagination, creativity and most importantly, a large dose of fun, coupled with a touch of insanity. The signature inflatables range in size - some towering 26 feet tall - and complexity, and participants will climb, weave and maneuver their way through challenges. Beyond the obstacles, the Insane Inflatable 5K will have a "Midway" where participants and viewers alike can enjoy games, food, beverages, merchandise and swag from local venders and sponsors.

Registration fees, which include an event T-shirt and medal upon completion, range from $49 for advance registration to $75 for day of event registration. All Access passes are $100. Children are welcome to participate with a minimum height requirement of 42". For more information about the Insane Inflatable 5Kand to register, visit www.insaneinflatable5k.com.

The SportsFest and Wellness Expo is a community event aimed to encourage the Augusta metropolitan community to get involved in a sport by learning what is available in order to live a happy and healthy lifestyle! Hosted by the Augusta Sports Council, the Expo will be held at the Diamond Lakes Community Center from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Participants of the Insane Inflatable 5K are strongly encouraged to attend the Expo after completing their course.

This event will target all ages and promote involvement in sports and recreation from the grass roots level through the professional level. Attendees will be able to take part in drills and games presented by various local sports groups. This free, family-oriented event will showcase interactive booths from over 20 local sports teams, health & wellness focused businesses and area fitness professionals. Health screenings will also be provided.
