6th Annual Augusta Literary Festival March 4th

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, February 16th, 2017

The 6th annual Augusta Literary Festival is back once again. The Festival will be held on Saturday, March 4, at the Headquarters Library of the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System (823 Telfair St.) from 10 am to 4 pm. As always, the ALF will feature diverse authors from all genres, with dynamic New York Times/USA Today best-selling author Kimberla Lawson Roby (kimroby.com) leading the way. The Festival will also include celebrated local author Brian Panowich (www.brianpanowich.com), whose book, Bull Mountain, will be made into a TV show. The ALF is free and open to the public.

The Festival takes pride in offering high quality workshops, panels, and book discussions from authors that are designed to help fellow authors, potential authors, and book lovers of all skill levels. This year, the ALF has made a concerted effort to include more exciting hands-on programming for school-aged youth and young adults. Young adult and middle grades author Jackson Pearce (jackson-pearce.com) will be on hand to feature her highly successful novels and share her knowledge of writing novels for teens and tweens while Debbie Dadey will sign her children’s books that have sold a combined 47 million copies all over the world.

The ALF will continue to host a literary marketplace featuring book signings by Roby and other panelists as well as over 30 authors and vendors, including Sheila Hight, an Augusta native who has called New Zealand home for over 20 years.
