Augusta Regional Airport is proud to host 30 students from the Richmond County School System for the Airports’ fourth Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Aviation Career Day!

On March 17th, 15 students from Academy of Richmond County and 15 students from Hephzibah Middle will be visiting AGS to participate in the Airports’ fourth STEM Aviation Career Day. The students will be provided the opportunity to learn about the Aviation Industry and how STEM is essential to Aviation Careers.

Each student will have the opportunity to interact with staff and tour the facilities of the Federal Aviation Administration Control Tower, the StandardAero maintenance hangar, the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting station, and a flight instructor with his Cessna 172 aircraft.

“The aviation industry is such an exhilarating and dynamic industry and many young people have never had exposure to nor considered aviation as a career,” said Herbert Judon, the Airports’ Executive Director. “We feel that by holding a Career Day we could ignite the love of aviation which could in turn provide future careers for local area students.”
