Augusta Metro Chamber Hires New Director of Workforce Initiatives

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the hiring of Jonathan Davis as the Director of Workforce Initiatives. Jonathan has most recently been with the Augusta Economic Development Authority as its Existing Industry Coordinator for nearly 4 years. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Paine College, and is a graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development as well as the Augusta Metro Chamber Leadership Augusta Class of 2015. As the Existing Industry Coordinator for AEDA, Jonathan was responsible for coordinating workforce development programs including their Business Education Partnership.

As the Director of Workforce Initiatives, Jonathan will be responsible for implementing services, programs and initiatives that support the goal of a prepared and trained workforce meeting the needs of regional business. He will be working closely with the Business Education Advisory Council to carry out the Council’s strategic and tactical partnership between public education and the business community. He will also be responsible for establishing the Chamber as an active advocate for championing workforce readiness in the region by fostering relationships between educational and training institutions and regional businesses.

Jonathan will begin his new role with the Chamber on March 20, 2017. The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is the largest business membership organization in the CSRA.  Membership is open to all businesses and organizations interested in enhancing the overall growth of the Augusta Region as well as investing in a multitude of opportunities that will maximize their growth and opportunity.
