Augusta Tech Foundation Receives a $5,000 Grant for Special Populations Lending Library

Women in Philanthropy, a group composed of 100 women that impact Augusta in a positive way each year through their philanthropic efforts, awarded $134,250 to ten non-profit organizations in Augusta at a luncheon on Friday.

The ten recipients included Augusta University College of Education, Augusta University Literacy Center, Heritage Academy, Augusta Locally Grown, Augusta Technical College Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of the CSRA, Harrisburg Family Healthcare, Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care and Walton Foundation for Independence.

The Augusta Technical College Foundation’s gift will be used to purchase textbooks for the Special Populations Lending Library, a service that helps women who have identified as single parents, displaced homemakers, nontraditional career-seekers, or those with limited English proficiency who are current students, part-time students and full-time students.
