EGSC-Augusta Names New Director

Nickolas Kelch has been named Director of East Georgia State College’s Augusta Campus, located on the Summerville Campus of Augusta University. He had been serving as Interim Director since November of 2016.
“I am excited to take on this important role at our Augusta location,” Kelch said. “I have been involved with the development of the Augusta campus since we first opened and look forward to continuing our partnership with Augusta University.”
Kelch had been employed as Assistant Director of Student Affairs at EGSC-Augusta since the program’s establishment in 2013, and has been a well-known and respected ambassador for EGSC throughout the region. As Interim Director, he provided administrative leadership and oversight for the Augusta campus, which has grown from 96 students in Fall 2013 to 504 students in Fall 2016. As Director, he will continue to work towards EGSC-Augusta’s strategic goals to better serve the community.
“East Georgia State College is proud to have Nick leading our efforts to assure that needs for access to higher education in the Augusta region are met,” said EGSC President Bob Boehmer. “His extensive experience and knowledge of the region and his commitment to students makes him a perfect fit for this important role.”
Kelch earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina – Aiken and a master’s degree from Victory Baptist Christian College. He has 10 years of higher education experience, including enrollment management positions at Aiken Technical College, University of South Carolina – Aiken and Augusta Technical College.
“Our [EGSC-Augusta] faculty and staff are committed to academic excellence in our community and we hope to make a significant impact in this area for years to come,” Kelch said, adding an enthusiastic, “Go Bobcats!”
