Employees from Georgia Power’s East Region and Plant Vogtle were recently recognized for their education initiatives by the Richmond County Board of Education. Georgia Power has been actively reaching out to students with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. These initiatives include programs like STEM Power at Sego Middle School, Learning Power energy efficiency education, Energy Pathways, Energy Week and robotics at the Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School, STEM Power Academy summer camp, the REACH program which provides scholarships and mentors to selected students, and other programs. Georgia Power employees also support a number of non-profit organizations which benefit students in Richmond County Schools.
