Georgia's First Lady Deal to Read to Heritage Academy Students

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, March 9th, 2017

Heritage Academy will host First Lady Deal as she continues her Read Across Georgia Tour to promote childhood literacy in the state of Georgia. “Learning to read is a language skill that has been proven to increase the quality of life, especially when it is developed at an early age,” said First Lady Deal. “Our goal is for every Georgian to have the literacy skills necessary to provide for themselves and their families. By modeling and engaging with students, I hope to encourage children to want to learn to read for themselves. Knowledge is power and we want to give them the confidence to acquire that power.” First Lady Deal will be reading to Heritage Academy’s kindergarten and first grade students Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10 A.M.
