The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta recently received a Resident Camp Access Grant from YMCA of the USA. This grant totals $12,000 and will help 40 children to attend resident camp at the YMCA’s Camp Lakeside. The Resident Camp Access Grant also provides assistance to military families.      

“All kids, regardless of their circumstances, should be able to enjoy the unforgettable memories of camp fun, and we know this grant will allow more children the wonderful opportunity to attend camp,” said Danny McConnell, President/CEO of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta. “All of our camps are just another example of how we have been able to meet the needs of our community.”

Recreation programs at the camp will include arts and crafts, devotions, games, swim days, character enrichment activities and so much more.
