State Representative Brian Prince (D-Augusta) issued the following statement regarding Georgia Power, Oglethorpe Power, MEAG Power and Dalton Utilities’ joint recommendation to continue construction at Plant Vogtle, a nuclear energy electricity-generating facility in the Central Savannah River Area:

“Georgia continues to lead the nation in forward-thinking energy resources, and the announcement today by our key stakeholders ensures that our state will continue to focus on strengthening its energy portfolio. The CSRA has long-benefitted from the first two Vogtle nuclear units and completing Units 3 and 4 will mean thousands of more jobs in our area and decades of emission-free energy for our great state.”
