Richmond County School System Increases 2017 CCRPI Scores

The Richmond County School System is proud to announce they have increased their 2017 College and Career Readiness Performance Index by over 6.5 points! Gains were seen across the system, with Elementary Schools increasing by 5.2 points, Middle Schools increasing by 5.9 points, and High Schools increasing by 9.5 points. 48 schools increased their overall score, with 20 of those increasing by 10 or more points Freedom Park K-8, Lake Forest Hills Elementary, McBean Elementary, CT Walker Magnet, Warren Road Elementary, AR Johnson Magnet, Davidson Fine Arts, RCTCM, and Westside all exceeded the state average on CCRPI.
The following schools reached their highest score in 5 years: Barton Chapel Elementary, Bayvale Elementary, C.T. Walker Magnet School, Craig-Houghton Elementary, Lamar-Milledge Elementary, Meadowbrook Elementary, Tobacco Road Elementary, Wheeless Road Elementary, Windsor Spring Elementary, Glenn Hills Middle, Morgan Road Middle, Spirit Creek Middle, Academy of Richmond County, Butler High, Glenn Hills High, Lucy C. Laney High, Richmond County Technical Career Magnet, and T.W. Josey High.
“Our CCRPI scores further demonstrate that the work and dedication of our students, teachers, and administrators is making a difference. With a focus on student growth and success, in and out of the classroom, we will continue to demonstrate that our children can achieve at high levels,” said Dr. Angela Pringle, Superintendent of Schools.
Garrett Elementary, Performance Learning Center, Glenn Hills High School, Tobacco Road Elementary, Rollins Elementary, T.W. Josey High School, Morgan Road Middle School, and Goshen Elementary increased their CCRPI score by 15 points or more.
The announcement of an increase in the 2017 CCRPI is another bright spot in a year when the Richmond County School System showed increases in graduation rates, SAT and ACT scores, and Georgia Milestones scores. With the help of our parents, community members, and community organizations, the RCSS will continue to increase student achievement and growth for all children in Richmond County.
