The Augusta Sports Council is proud to announce the selection of IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta as the 1st for Overall Swim and 7th for Best Post-Race Celebration out of 102 total IRONMAN 70.3 series events worldwide. IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Holding company, announced the results of the 2017 Athlete's Choice Awards on Monday, February 12th, releasing the Top 10 scoring events in a variety of categories based solely off athlete surveys from all of the 2017 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races globally. There were an impressive 55,000 total respondents for the survey.

"I am so proud of everyone who has helped out on this event and continued to spend time and effort making Augusta a global success," said AJ Sills, Race Director for IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta. "The Augusta Common is one of a kind and this result only solidifies the thought and effort put into making our athletes, spectators, volunteers and anyone else that strolls around on race day aware that we care about their experience."

The 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon will take place on September 23rd and will celebrate the events 10th year.
