Augusta Jam returned to the first major championship of the year to celebrate some of the biggest athletes in the world through music and culture. Held in the city of Augusta, Georgia during the biggest weekend in golf, Augusta Jam supports local community initiatives with concert proceeds and additionally supports PGD Global's mission to grow the game of golf through music, culture and diversity. For the second year in a row, Tanqueray continued to shake things up in Augusta by joining forces with hip-hop sensation Nelly bringing celebration, culture and music to the biggest weekend in golf.
GRAMMY Award-Winning Hip Hop Artist, Nelly, joined PGD Global for Tanqueray on the Tee followed by an in-depth one-on-one Cocktails and Conversations discussion presented by Tanqueray No. TEN. The private event, Tanqueray on The Tee, was hosted by renowned Golf Professional and Fashionista, Seema Sadekar. The day began with a warm-up and fundamental range lesson followed by a 3-hole on-course experience, where Nelly learned the in's and out's on how to perfect your golf game. Cocktails and Conversations closed out the day at the clubhouse in 19th hole style, for one-on-one in-depth conversation over a signature Tanqueray No. TEN cocktails. Nelly discussed his personal experiences, growing passion for golf and how his travels have allowed him to play all over the world.
"Music and sports actually have a lot in common, both are very competitive industries where hard work is the key to success. You have to create your own style and make a difference to stand out, but still stay true to tradition," said hip-hop star Nelly.
Later that evening, Nelly took the stage for a sold out performance at the highly anticipated and second annual Augusta Jam, featuring world class cocktails by Tanqueray No. TEN, Don Julio, Crown Royal, CIROC and Bulleit Bourbon. Great moments deserve great spirits and Augusta Jam is honored to raise a glass to all the athletes playing in this year's tournament.
