Wednesday, April 11th, 2018

Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. was endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association and the International Association of Firefighters.  This endorsement reaffirms Mayor Davis’s leadership and commitment to our first responders and to the safety of Augusta and all Augusta residents.

“A vote for these candidates is a vote for public safety,” said Ben Harman of the PBA.

“I’m honored to have earned the endorsement from the PBA and the International Association of Firefighters,” said Mayor Davis.

Davis is seeking re-election to serve a second term as Mayor of Augusta.  The endorsement of the PBA and the International Association of Firefighters comes after the groups interviewed mayoral candidates  about their platform, experience and support for public safety.

“We urge all first responders to vote for the candidates we are supporting, and all Augustans to vote for them, too,” Harman added during a press conference this afternoon.

“The men and women who protect and serve in uniform ensure that our neighborhoods and schools are safe places for us to live, learn, work, play and raise a family. My commitment to them and their families goes beyond higher wages and a better pension because they deserve the best quality of life we can offer,” Davis added.
