The Augusta Sports Council board of directors announce Fred Russell as the interim CEO while the board conducts a search for a full-time CEO replacement.

Russell's appointment was approved following a closed-door discussion. He was not present during the board's vote. Fred Russell was involved in law enforcement and local/state government for over 40 years. He spent 12 years working closely with national and international cycling events including the Union Cyclist International World Championship and the UCI Para-Cyclist World Championship.

ASC chairman Chris Lewis says, "We are excited to have Fred on board and know he will help us during this transition period. His knowledge of cycling will greatly assist the staff during the upcoming USA Cycling and Para-Cycling National Championships coming this June."
