Wednesday, June 6th, 2018
Congratulations to Dr. Angela D. Pringle for being accepted to The Broad Academy. Billed as the nation’s most prominent professional-development program for current and aspiring urban school-system leaders, the two-year program is comprised of aspiring urban and state superintendents, as well as leaders already running high-performing public-school systems as they work to grow their organizations’ effectiveness and increase their impact. Dr. Pringle was selected through a rigorous application and interview process, evaluating her focus on excellence and equity for every student.
Dr. Pringle’s priority for students in the Richmond County School System is to increase achievement through community engagement, communication, a high-performing culture and workforce, and operational effectiveness. She believes collaboration with community is the key to success. As Superintendent, she has worked closely with the Board of Education, administrators, teachers and parents to raise the graduation rate by 18 percentage points. Under her leadership, innovative programs such as the literacy center and the expansion of International Baccalaureate and gifted programs have helped drive student learning.
