Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Monday, July 9th, 2018

Patients in the Augusta metropolitan area will now have another quick and affordable option for immediate healthcare.

Perfect Health Urgent Care will open an urgent care center at Augusta University Medical Center on July 2. The center –  located inside Entrance A on the first floor of the medical center – will provide patients suffering from symptoms that do not constitute an emergency a place to seek prompt treatment.

“With the shortage of general practitioners in the field today, patients suffering from a fever or flu symptoms may have to wait weeks to see their usual family doctor. And emergency rooms are plagued with long wait times,” said Dr. Troy Coon, M.D., one of three board-certified emergency room physicians who own the clinic. “Perfect Health clinics provide the perfect alternative to both those scenarios. We’re able to offer non-emergent patients the services a practitioner or emergency room would – but with virtually no wait time.”

Patients are encouraged to walk in to Perfect Health’s clinic; there’s no appointment necessary. In addition to the treatment of most non-emergency conditions, Perfect Health’s capable staff will be able to offer medications, X-rays, and lab services on site.

Dr. Chad Marley, one of the three owners, said, “The clinic offers a more affordable option to patients. The clinic accepts most major health insurance plans and also has cash-pay options.” Perfect Health also offers memberships, which helps frequent patients save money, although a membership is not required to walk in to any of the Perfect Health urgent care centers.

The urgent care center at Augusta University Medical Center will be Perfect Health’s fourth location in the Augusta area.

“We’re proud to be able to offer affordable and fast medical care to people in the community we serve,” Dr. Robert Garnett, another owner, said. “We pride ourselves on maintaining trusting relationships with our patients – above and beyond what they expect from us. And we’re excited to begin offering that same level of care through our new Augusta University Medical Center location.”
