Publix employees recently wrapped up their 27th annual fundraising campaign, raising $29,598 for Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
From May 31 – June 16, Publix team members sold CMN Hospitals’ Miracle Balloon coupons at the register for $1, $3 and $5. In return, these coupons provided Publix patrons with savings of $5 and more off a variety of products. Local Publix stores set a 2018 goal of $25,000. Not only did they increase fundraising by 41 percent, but they raised $10,000 more than they did in 2017.
These contributions from generous Publix customers and associates will help fund pediatric services including vital equipment, life-saving research, community outreach programs and various other pediatric needs at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
More than 1,180 Publix stores in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia participated in the fundraiser benefitting 27 member hospitals. Nationally, the stores surpassed their fundraising total by more than 8 percent over 2017
This year marks Publix’s 27th year of fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since this partnership began in 1992, Publix has raised more than $44 million dollars to support CMN Hospitals nationwide.
