Staff Report

Friday, September 7th, 2018

The greater North Augusta community is experiencing tremendous growth.  As Riverside Village nears completion and Exits 1 and 5 welcome new residential development, enhancing the community’s quality of life become even more important to the Chamber.  Building, sustaining and expanding business and industry is vital to that quality of life.

Join the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, September 13th as we welcome City Administrator, Todd Glover, for a power lunch discussion about Opportunity Zones in North Augusta.  “Opportunity Zones are a new community development program established by Congress as a part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, they are designed to encourage long-term private investments...providing a federal tax incentive for taxpayers who reinvest unrealized capital gains into ‘Opportunity Funds’.” (scopportunityzone.com)

The Chamber’s Power Lunch will be held at the North Augusta Municipal Building, Palmetto Terrace Ballroom at 11:30am. Advanced registration is required at NorthAugustaChamber.org; $30 for Chamber members. For more information, contact Terra Carroll, President/CEO, at [email protected].
