18 Richmond County Schools Achieve All Time High on CCRPI
Tuesday, October 30th, 2018
The Richmond County School System is proud to announce eighteen schools have achieved their highest ever College and Career Ready Performance Index scores, despite significant changes to the calculation for the CCRPI. Started in 2012, the CCRPI has seen calculation adjustments in the past, however, this year’s scores were capped at 100 points with only four focus areas for elementary and middle schools and five focus areas for high schools. These areas include content mastery, progress, closing gaps, and readiness with graduation rate included for high school only. With the new calculation focused on success in the classroom, Richmond County schools again demonstrated their commitment to high academic achievement for all.
A. Brian Merry Elementary, Barton Chapel Elementary, Blythe Elementary, Craig-Houghton Elementary, Diamond Lakes Elementary, Freedom Park Elementary, Hains Elementary, Hephzibah Elementary, Jamestown Elementary, Jenkins-White Elementary, Lake Forest Hills Elementary, McBean Elementary, Meadowbrook Elementary, Warren Road Elementary, Langford Middle, Glenn Hills Middle, Spirit Creek Middle, and Laney High School all achieved their highest ever CCRPI scores. RCSS Elementary and Middle school scores are also at an alltime high.
43 schools achieved their Governor’s Office of Student Achievement targets by demonstrating improvements of 3% in keeping with Strategic Waivers School System contracts.
With the CCRPI now focusing on success in the classroom, 32 schools boasted higher CCRPI scores in 2018 than in 2017.
School Climate Star ratings also improved, with 27 schools showing improvement over the previous year. Climate ratings are derived from a variety of sources, including surveys of staff and parents, and data for discipline and attendance.
“Over the last several years, we have been focused on success in and out of the classroom. This year’s CCRPI scores prove we are on the right track and we will continue to make progress toward high academic achievement for all students,” said Dr. Angela Pringle, Superintendent of Schools. “I would like to thank all of our teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and students for their commitment to learning as we march towards excellence.”
