The Board of Directors of the Augusta Sports Council (ASC) is pleased to announce Brian Graham as Chief Executive Officer. Graham replaces Stacie Adkins, who led the organization from 2015-2018.
Graham comes to the ASC from Morris Communications where as the Corporate Director of Events and Associations he provided managerial oversight for the National Barrel Horse Association, the Augusta Cutting Horse Futurity, and the Hippodrome Events Complex. He previously served as executive director of the Professional Disc Golf Association and was responsible for record exponential growth of the association and the sport from 2007-2016. Graham is a 12 year veteran of the sports tourism industry and serves on advisory boards for the US Sports Congress and the Augusta Sports Council. He has appeared as an expert panelist on various topics at the U.S. Sports Congress, TEAMS, and SPORTS Relationship Conferences. He was honored by SportsEvents Magazine in 2014 with an Éclat Award for brilliant performance in the sports industry, and was identified by Sports Planning Guide in 2016 as one of "10 events rights holders to watch" in the industry.
"Brian's specialization with development, management and the evolution of organizations in the sports and sports tourism industries is just what the ASC needs to continue to grow" said Chris Lewis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ASC. "He is committed to the ASC's mission of strengthening the quality of life and economic well-being for the Augusta area through sporting events."
Graham is a native of the Augusta area. He is married, with two children. He began as Chief Executive Officer on January 14.
Graham said, "I am thrilled to be joining the Augusta Sports Council as its new CEO at such a defining time for our community. It will be my sincere honor and pleasure to work alongside our dedicated board members and staff in continuing the successful work of my predecessors, and in leveraging the excitement in our community to better fulfill our mission."
