Local Bank of America employees and their family members took time on Giving Tuesday to inspect and sort food in Golden Harvest Food Bank’s Faith Food Factory and celebrate another successful year of the Give A Meal fundraising campaign. In just a few short weeks, food bank supporters and Bank of America raised 247,500 meals to feed hungry families. The Give A Meal program is an exclusive holiday partnership with Bank of America, Feeding America®, and Golden Harvest Food Bank; it’s focused on breaking the cycle and ending hunger in communities. Now in its 7^th year of Give A Meal, Bank of America already has helped to provide more than 255 million meals to individuals and families nationwide. The campaign enables individuals to donate to Feeding America nationally or support local food banks such as Golden Harvest Food Bank. Donations were made through www.bankofamerica.com/give.

Here in the greater Augusta-Aiken area, 1 in 6 people and 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger. Food security is a fundamental first step on the path to economic mobility and empowerment, which is why we are partnering with Feeding America and its network of 200 member food banks on Give A Meal. For our 7^th consecutive year, Bank of America, Feeding America and Golden Harvest Food Bank, are working together to ensure that families don’t have to choose between feeding their families and paying for basic of necessities like rent, heat, or medical care. Bank of America supports hunger relief as part of its broader commitment to help advance long-term community sustainability and economic mobility for individuals and families.

** All donations, including the Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s matching donations, go to the Feeding America network (the Feeding America National Office, or affiliated local food banks).  For individual donations made to Feeding America through the Give a Meal ™ program before December 31, 2018, the Foundation matched each donation (up to $1,000 per donor) two-to-one, with a maximum total Foundation donation of up to $50,000 to any individual local food bank, and an aggregate maximum Foundation donation of up to $1,500,000 for all Feeding America programs. $1=10 meals secured by Feeding America® on behalf of member food banks.  © 2018 Bank of America Corporation
