Davidson Fine Arts and A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Recognized by U.S. News and World Report as Top Public Schools

Two Richmond County School System schools placed highly in this year’s U.S. News and World Report’s annual ranking of the top public high schools across the country.
Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School were both ranked inside the top 15 in the State of Georgia. Davidson was ranked #3 and A.R. Johnson ranked #12. “As a system, we continue to march toward excellence and I am extremely proud of Davidson and A.R. Johnson for leading the way,” said Dr. Angela Pringle, Richmond County School System Superintendent. “This honor not only recognizes the high level of academic rigor at both schools, but also is a testament to the efforts of our administrators, teachers, students, and parents to create a world-class learning environment.”
Rankings are based on a weighted scale measured by College Readiness, Math and Reading Proficiency, Reading and Math performance, Underserved Student Performance, College Curriculum Breadth, and Graduation Rates. Davidson boasts a 100% graduation rate, 93% reading proficiency, and a 91% AP exam participation rate. A.R. Johnson has a 100% graduation rate, 89% reading proficiency, and an 86% AP exam participation rate.
