U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., met Wednesday with Stephen Dickson of Atlanta, a former Delta pilot and President Donald J. Trump’s nominee to be the administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. If confirmed by the Senate, Dickson would serve a term of five years. As administrator, he would also serve as chairman of the Air Traffic Services Committee for the U.S. Department of Transportation. Dickson’s nomination was announced on March 19 and sent to the Senate on April 11. 

“I enjoyed hearing about Captain Dickson’s extensive experience in aviation, where he has served as an F-15 fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force and as senior vice president of flight operations at Delta, among other roles,” said Isakson. “Captain Dickson’s commitment to aviation safety is well known. Representing a state that is home to the world’s busiest airport, one of the world’s largest airlines, and manufacturers of business and military aircraft, I’m committed to ensuring American aviation remains safe and thriving. I look forward to Captain Dickson’s hearing before the Senate Commerce Committee.”  

A Senate Commerce Committee hearing on Dickson’s nomination has not yet been scheduled.
