Dimitri Allmond, a coffee professional with experience managing a fast-paced, successful coffee shop, has joined Buona Caffe Artisan Roasted Coffee as general manager of its two coffee bars.
 
After experiencing the quality of the product and the wonderful staff at Buona Caffe, I knew I wanted to part of a special time in the company’s history,” Allmond said.   
 
Allmond says he has spent most of his life cultivating a passion for all things coffee, starting from an early age when his grandmother gave him spoonfuls of coffee. After high school, he spent 11 years in the United States Army with multiple domestic and overseas duty assignments.
 
After transitioning to the civilian sector, Allmond became a store manager at Starbucks.
He helped open Aiken’s first stand-alone Starbucks store and became its manager in 2016. With his leadership, the Aiken store quickly became the best-performing Starbucks in the area.
 
“We have been looking for the right person for this position for a long time,” said John Curry, co-owner of Buona Caffe  “Dimitri shares our passion for great coffee and customer service. We’re excited to have someone with his experience join our team.”
 
John and Pat Curry started Buona Caffe on their kitchen counter in 2010. Its first coffee bar opened in 2013 at 1858 Central Ave. Its second location, in the lobby of the Georgia Cyber Center, opened in August 2018. Their roasting facility, espresso machine showroom, and barista training center opened this year at 520 Reynolds St. in downtown Augusta.
