The Georgia-Carolina Council (Boy Scouts of America) has hired Rachel Stone as District Executive to serve the Creek River District and Michael Shook as District Director serving the Yamasee District.

Stone brings with her over 12 years of event planning, marketing, sales and fundraising.  She has recently relocated to Augusta from the Northwest, where she most recently owned her own successful business.  Prior to owning her business, she has several years of experience working with non-profit.  Rachel served as the Fund Development Director of the American Red Cross Benton-Franklin Chapter in Kennewick, WA.  In her time with the Red Cross she was instrumental in increasing funds raised by her chapter.  She cultivated new volunteers and strategically planned and implemented large events that grew year-over-year.

“In my previous roles I have always looked for ways to make a difference and give back.  I am excited to be a part of the Boy Scouts of America, and the opportunity to make a contribution to the youth of this area.”

As a District Executive, Rachel will oversee the BSA activities in Richmond, Burke, Jefferson, Jenkins and Emanuel counties.

Michael Shook has begun working with the Scouters in Aiken, Barnwell and Edgefield Counties. Shook has previous professional Scouting experience having worked in the Daniel Boone Council in Asheville NC from 2000-2003, Georgia-Carolina Council from 2003-2007 before returning to Asheville from 2007-2008. Michael is an Eagle Scout and a Veteran of the Marine Corps.
