Colony Bank is pleased to announce that Thomas M. Bird has been named Regional Market Manager, Mortgage Loan Originator for the Augusta, Statesboro and Savannah markets.  Bird will be working from the Company’s Augusta office located at 1201 Town Park Lane in Evans, Georgia.
 
Bird is a veteran of the mortgage banking industry with 40 years of experience. Most recently, he served as First Vice President at CenterState Bank Mortgage in Augusta, Georgia. From 2015 to 2018, he served as President at State Bank & Trust Mortgage, and from 2000 to 2015, he served as Executive Vice President for First Bank of Georgia.
 
Bird has an extensive history of involvement in the mortgage banking industry, having served as past President for both the Mortgage Bankers Association of Augusta and the Mortgage Banking Association of Georgia. He has also had extensive civic involvement in the community as past President of both the Augusta Country Club and Augusta Golf Association. Bird attended Augusta University. He and his wife, Michele, have two adult sons, one granddaughter and attend St. Mary on the Hill Church. Bird’s hobbies include golf and spending time at the lake.
